The craze for Pushpa 2 has taken over the box office, breaking records and setting new benchmarks in Indian cinema. With a staggering net collection of ₹1234.1 crore, the film has solidified Allu Arjun’s status as one of the biggest superstars in the country. However, the journey to making this blockbuster was far from easy, especially for Allu Arjun, who went through gruelling challenges while filming the high-energy Jathara song.

In a recent interview, Ganesh Acharya, the choreographer behind the electrifying dance sequence, revealed how Allu Arjun sustained multiple injuries while shooting the song. The superstar’s dedication to his craft left everyone in awe.

Allu Arjun’s Painful Yet Mesmerizing Jathara Performance

One of the most visually striking moments in Pushpa 2 was the Jathara song, where Allu Arjun transformed into a devotee of Goddess Gangamma Thalli. Dressed in a saree, adorned with heavy jewellery, ghungroos, and intricate makeup, he delivered a power-packed performance that left audiences spellbound.

But behind the scenes, it was a different story. According to Ganesh Acharya, the song required 29 days of non-stop filming, and throughout this period, Allu Arjun kept injuring himself repeatedly.

“Shooting the Jathara song was extremely challenging for me. Filming continuously for 29 days was tough, but I believe the real credit goes to Allu Arjun. He dedicated five years to both Pushpa films. In Jathara, he performed wearing a saree, ghungroos, a necklace, a blouse, and various other props. Every 5-10 days, he would injure himself, sometimes breaking his foot or suffering neck injuries, but he never gave up,” revealed Acharya.

Allu Arjun’s Dedication: A Testament to His Stardom

Ganesh Acharya further emphasized that today’s actors have evolved significantly when it comes to dancing. While Bollywood stars like Tiger Shroff, Varun Dhawan, Ranbir Kapoor, and Ranveer Singh have trained extensively, South Indian actors have dance in their blood.
“Earlier, making Sunny Deol, Sanjay Dutt, Jackie Shroff, and Ajay Devgn dance used to be a very big task. But now, actors are more trained and versatile. South stars, especially, know their dance by heart,” Acharya said.

Pushpa 2: A Phenomenon That Shook the Industry

Directed by Sukumar, Pushpa 2 also features Rashmika Mandanna, Fahadh Faasil, Sritej, Divi Vadthya, and Aanchal Munjal in pivotal roles. Since its December 5 release, the film has been dominating the box office, proving yet again that the Pushpa franchise is unstoppable.
Allu Arjun’s unwavering commitment and passion for his role in Pushpa 2 not only won the hearts of fans but also set a new standard for dedication in Indian cinema. Whether it’s his injuries, his transformation, or his sheer screen presence, he truly embodies the spirit of “Thaggede Le!”
